Roles and Responsibilities
The Wholesale Sales Assistant will work directly with the Vice President Sales and Merchandising assisting in all areas of the Wholesale business. This person will play a vital role in the day-to-day operations of Alala’s wholesale business. He/she will be expected to take ownership of tasks, creating + managing reporting to various stakeholders.
Assist VP of Sales and Operations manager in daily account management.
Help identify and strategize new ways to grow the wholesale business such as scouting new retailers, assisting with trunk shows and market appointments.
Manage catalog of wholesale clients taking into consideration shipping methods and billing terms
Manage customer relationships as it relates to shipping by preparing, editing and updating all orders with correct PO numbers, shipping dates, and cancellations
General data and order entry into our ERP system
Responsible for uploading and maintaining wholesale order platforms (Faire, Bulletin, Joor)
Analyze stock levels and follow up on inventory opportunities for new and existing accounts by keeping current weekly ATS and working closely with wholesale accounts
Assist in achieving sales targets via customer service, trunk shows and events, and daily client outreach
Complete sample copy for department stores to ensure all product information is accurate
Background and Experience
1-2 years of relevant experience in fashion wholesaling
Strong communication and interpersonal skills both written and verbal
Problem solving and analytical skills
Organized, motivated and self-starter
Good negotiation and presentation skills
Ability to work within a team and individually
Proactive and able to show initiative/ideas to constantly improve the brand’s performance
Enthusiastic, confident and able to act as an ambassador for Alala
Strong commercial awareness and interest in fashion and wholesale
Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office (especially Excel)
Open to occasional travel and weekends
