Care Instructions

Always check the care tag inside the garment for specific care instructions

Lengthen the life of your Alala Activewear

1. Don't just toss your workout wear in the hamper if it's damp from sweat; let your clothing dry post-workout to prevent mildew growth.

2. Allow the inside of the garment to get as clean as possible and ensure colors remain bright by turning your garments inside-out.

3. Fabric softeners can cause damage to stretchy fibers such as polyester, elastane, and nylon - so we recommend you do not use them when washing your activewear.

4. Machine wash cold on gentle cycle with like colors.

5. Air to dry (heat can damage fibers)

Lengthen the life of your Alala Loungewear

1. Turn clothing inside out (this will allow the inside of the garment to be as clean as possible, ensure colors remain bright, and help to prevent pilling).

2. Machine wash cold on gentle cycle with like colors (on newer machines, this replicates hand washing).

3. Tumble dry low or lay flat to air dry.

4. Use fabric shaver on knit pieces to keep pilling to a minimum and keep your loungewear looking brand-new.

    GENTLE CYCLE VS HAND WASHING

    • Both gentle cycle and hand washing use low agitation and cold water to ensure fabric is handled with care
    • Top loading washing machines do not have as gentle of a cycle as front loading ones.
    • A mesh bag may be used to lengthen the life of elasticity
    • If loungewear is being washed on gentle, it should be turned inside out to prevent any pilling

    BRAS

After a great workout, bras should be removed and air-dried before washing (or throwing in the hamper) to prevent the formation of mildew. If your bra has removable padding, the pads should be taken out, air-dried, and hand washed separately. When it's time to wash, turn your bras inside out to preserve the color and ensure your machine is set to cold on gentle cycle (pro tip: gentle cycle on newer machines replicates hand washing). Fabric softeners and bleach should be avoided, as they will damage your bras. You may air dry on a flat surface or tumble dry on low, but keep in mind that repeated heat exposure will damage and stretch out elastic fibers, resulting in loss of support over time. Should wrinkles appear, iron them out on cool. Bras should not be steamed or dry cleaned.

Should you desire to remove the signature gold-plated Alala tag, please consult with a professional.

    TIGHTS

After you show off your new tights to your high-intensity workout class, just as you do with your sports bras, tights should be removed and air-dried before washing (or throwing in the hamper) to prevent the formation of mildew. When laundry day arrives, make sure your tights are inside out - we want to preserve the colors, right? Your machine should be set to cold on the gentle cycle and fabric softeners and bleach should be avoided as they will damage your brand-new tights. Tights should be hung to dry. They can be dried on tumble dry low, but keep in mind that repeated heat exposure will damage and stretch out elastic fibers (so maybe tumble dry every few washes?). If wrinkles appear, they can be ironed out on a cool setting. Tights should not be steamed or dry cleaned.

    SEAMLESS

In order to keep your Seamless styles as fitted as they were when you cut off the tags, turn inside out and machine wash cold on a gentle cycle with like colors. Avoid any fabric softeners or bleach, as they will damage the garment. Once finished washing, lay your pieces flat to dry away from direct sunlight. Seamless styles should not be ironed or dry cleaned, any wrinkles that appear will come out once on your body!

    CLUB ATTIRE

After a full day on the court or the course, your club attire will need a good wash. Before tossing your whites into the washing machine or hamper, they should be hung to prevent the formation of mildew. When it's time to wash, turn your piece inside out to ensure proper washing. Avoid any fabric softeners or bleach, as they will damage the garment. You may hang dry or tumble dry on low, but keep in mind that repeated heat exposure will damage elastic fibers. If you decide to air dry, please do so away from direct sunlight. Club attire should not be ironed or dry cleaned.

    WASHABLE CASHMERE

How does Alala's Washable Cashmere stand above the rest? Aside from it being super chic & luxurious, it's washable! Begin by removing the garment and hand wash on cold. Bleach should be avoided. Your Washable Cashmere pieces can be laid flat to dry. Should wrinkles appear, iron them on cool. No need to dry clean here (although it totally is safe to do so).

    GODDESS CASHMERE

How does Alala's Goddess Cashmere stand above the rest? Aside from it being super chic & luxurious, it's washable! Begin by removing the garment and hand wash or machine wash gentle on cold. If necessary, use non-chlorine bleach only. Your Goddess Cashmere pieces should be laid flat to dry (no dry cleaning!). Should wrinkles appear, iron them out on cool.

    Did you know?

Bleeding garments are more common than you may think (it's not just your dark wash denim!). Fabrics with a rich, saturated color will likely bleed due to the amount of dye used. Don't let excess dye ruin your light-colored couch or handbag - we have an easy solution.

    1. After ensuring the fit of your garment is perfect, toss it straight into the washing machine (by itself!) to be washed on a cold gentle cycle without detergent. The cold water will allow the dye to set.

    2. Once this cycle is complete, your garment should be washed two more times on a hot gentle cycle with detergent to wash away the last of the excess dye.

    3. To test if all excess dye has been washed away, simply rub a white piece of paper on the garment. If the paper is white, you're all set to throw on your new pieces!
